I can’t believe it. My absolute favorite singer of all time is gone. None of us know when our time here is going to be up. I always felt a certain connection to George Michael because I remember being looked at as a goody two shoes in school, but I knew it wasn’t who I really was.
The lesson I learned from him was that only when you are yourself , can you be truly happy. Sometimes life can bring you down, seeming to mock you, but laugh at yourself and things will turn out fine. He lived his life without apology for who he was which is not always easy. What better example could have been found for a girl like me about to plunge into the LGBT community?
I am hoping as some of you read this, it will make you reflect on your own lives. Sure, we try to foster an atmosphere of fantasy fun here, but it is important that in your day to day reality that you can love yourself. I am thankful that George used his celebrity to talk about love and loss. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in the trivial material things that we forget what life is really about.
Connections. Relationships. Those are important things. Shaking your ass to Freedom or I Want Your Sex is not without merit either. Thanks for being yourself George, your voice will be missed.
He was one of the best ever!!! Loved loved loved his music!!! He will be missed.
I loved George Michael. Often times, the news that was printed about him was less than flattering, but in the wake of his death, so much has come out about his secret kindness and philanthropy. It is the picture of a man that never wanted to be recognized or get any credit for the good he did, but just wanted to help others out of the love in his heart. George Michael was a true star with extraordinary talent that never apologized for being himself. He made quality music and he was taken from us too soon.
Ms. Lena, I agree that we all have to reflect on our own lives. Because reflecting allows us to recognize the biased mindsets, to really discover the truth and allow us to identify past behavior(s) or mistakes we committed. George Michael was one of my favorite singers and his discreet generous donations to charity made him even more special.
Ms. Lena, I am just heartbroken! This is one will be impossible to get over. I remember staring transfixed at his music video “Faith”. He was just so hot and so damn sexy! I knew he was gay, but it didn’t matter. He was hot. Talented. Amazing.
Wonderful post about life. Yes, this is a fantasy realm. But we are real people with feelings, and our callers are, too. This is such a wonderful place to share all of it!
Happy New Year my mistress friend! xxoo
